Tactics

Our tactics are inferred from our strategy: to recruit, enable, and motivate a Web development team of skilled pioneers.

Recruit team members

It is the nature of pioneers that they volunteer themselves. Their behavior patterns indicate an unqualified willingness to tie professional future to collective effort. By agreeing to join the team, these individuals guarantee synergy. They have no choice but to work together to achieve the mission. Thus recruitment is a simple matter of evaluating whether volunteers collectively possess the development skills dictated by the web itself.

Enable the team

The only way to enable the pioneer team to achieve its mission is to authorize it to do so. If the team is to focus single-mindedly on its mission, it cannot be blocked by highly politicized committees. Although made up of individuals from all ranks within the corporation, the team must report directly to the individual ultimately responsible for corporate web development. Any other tactic will disable the team and doom the mission.

Motivate the team

The only way to motivate a team to achieve its mission is to tie the measurable business objectives of each member to the mission itself. That is, each pioneer is responsible for achieving the mission. If, after a specified time, the corporation develops the maximum possible number of popular Internet, intranet, and extranet sites, every member of the team is promoted. If not, every member of the team is demoted and retired from the team.

Never forget the mission

At times, it will be tempting to view these tactics as excessively harsh. However, once the mission begins, it is critical that the tactics not be changed in any way. The tactics ensure the professional safety and success of the team. If these tactics are followed without hesitation, the team will always achieve its mission.
